Extensive white streaking of Striated Bulbul Alcurus striatus distinguishes from all other bulbuls. Ranges Himalayas to northern Southeast Asia, with small part of range in Tibet (striatus) and Yunnan (striatus, paulus). HABITAT & BEHAVIOR Broadleaved forest in hills and mountains. Noisy, active, often in flocks. ID Green above, lemon-yellow on belly, with fine streaks (like uncooked rice) on upperparts and fatter streaking (like cooked rice) on underparts. Has crest, also streaked. Vent yellow, unstreaked. BARE PARTS Bill, feet black. VOICE Sharp, slow whistles. Song a rapid warble of random whistles and squeaks. — Craig Brelsford
