Chinese Water Deer Hydropotes inermis inermis, female, Binjiang Forest Park (31.385567, 121.520245), Shanghai, November. Water Deer is a small cervid with no antlers and a short tail. The male has canines pointing downward (tusks). Female lacks tusks. Scientists have introduced a group of Chinese Water Deer to Binjiang Forest Park. (Craig Brelsford)
