House Swift
House Swift Apus nipalensis nipalensis, Xishuangbanna Botanical Gardens (21.928112, 101.263555), Yunnan, China, elev. 550 m (1,800 ft.), January. Nominate is resident across much of southern China; also kuntzi endemic to Taiwan. Distinguished from Pacific Swift A. pacificus by slightly notched tail that appears square-ended in flight. Wings shorter and less sickle-like than Pacific Swift and other swifts. (Craig Brelsford)
