Buff-breasted Sandpiper
Buff-breasted Sandpiper Calidris subruficollis, non-breeding adult, Bolivia. Buff-breasted Sandpiper breeds northern North America and extreme northeast Russia. Winters South America. Rarely recorded Japan and Taiwan. Likely rare vagrant to mainland China. Resembles juvenile Ruff C. pugnax but is much smaller and has smaller, more rounded head and shorter bill. (Daniel Bengtsson)
