Medium Egret Ardea intermedia has head more rounded than Great Egret A. alba. Gape line ends below eye, shorter than Great Egret. Medium Egret is noticeably larger than Eastern Cattle Egret A. coromanda and non-breeding has yellow bill tipped black.
